General Notes:
FM202 Murdoch and Annie moved from Cape Breton in 1848.
FM075 T,T and T pg 213 - Moved to Kincardine twp. in 1852. Previously, Murdoch and Annie were natives of Cape Breton. He settled on Con6Lot22 in Kincardine Twp in 1854, and sold this lot in 1857 to Murdoch Matheson. ( Note also that Murdoch Matheson was accompanied by Murdoch's parents, Allan Matheson bc 1783 and his wife Margaret, natives of Scotland. Allan Matheson appears on the land grant request with John Finlayson Sr. in Cape Breton. (believed to be the same Allen Matheson).) In 1855 they bought Con6 Lot 23.He built a new brick house on the property in 1880 but he died before he moved into it (pg 213 TTT) The E1/2 went to his son David and the W1/2 stayed with the widow and was deeded to son James in 1898.

FM198 Research of Roy C Hunter -doesn't believe that Murdoch came from Middle River but from another settlement in Nova Scotia. Note photo of Annie and Murdoch is from this publication see also FM192. Feels that Murdoch, Annie and son, Robert, moved to Upper Canada approx 1849 settling on a farm near Armow. HM0001b Annie's obit says that one month after she died will mark 20 years since Murdoch passed away. Annie died in April 1901 which would make Murdoch's death in May 1881.

(Anne (Annie) FINLAYSON was born on 10 Feb 1822 in Scotland, died on 5 Apr 1901 in Oregon, USA and was buried Apr 1901 / reinterred 1941 in The Dalles, Wasco County, Oregon, USA.)

The couple next appears around 1852 living on Concession 6 Lot 23 in Kincardine Twp, Bruce Cty., Ontario, where they gained title in 1855. Here theyhomesteaded and raised their 9 children many of who's names can also be found in the 1871 and 1881 censuses.
Murdoch built a new brick house on the farm but died in 1881 just before moving in. Annie possibly remained in the new house till she moved to Oregon to be with two of her children.
