General Notes:
Sources seem to agree that Annie emigrated as a child with her parents from Scotland to St. Ann's in Cape Breton (HM0001b, HM0003a-see Wm. Hunter)). From her obituary and census data from 1871(FM115), 1881(FM194c), and 1900 (FM334a) she appears to have been born about Feb 1822. One source in NZ actually gives a date of 10th Feb as a date of birth. (FM050)
After marrying Murdoch about 1841 in Cape Breton(HM0001b), they moved to Upper Canada where they homesteaded in Bruce County. She remained there a number of years after Murdoch died in 1881.(FM202b) According to family historian, Myrtle (Hunter) Stringer, Ann went to The Dalles to visit two of her children sometime during the summer of 1898 (FM339a) and remained till she passed away in 1901.
Annie was originally buried in Kingsley cemetery but her body was moved in 1941 to the IOOF cemetery in The Dalles to be closer to the family. (personal communication from the IOOF staff). She is buried with 'Gertrude', the first wife of her son, William. (see grave HM0001)
