bullet  General Notes:

James and wife Anne Ardell and several children emigrated from Tipperary in 1837-38, and located in Ernesttown, near Kingston, Ontario, for a few years, before moving on to Biddulph Twp. north of London, Ont.. James was killed here in an accident while helping to build a house for a neighbour, Henry Hodgins, a recent arrival from Tipperary. James is known to have been a brother of either William Dagg (1796-1864), or William's
wife Elizabeth Dagg (1808-1855), who were cousins.
James was buried in St. John the Divine churchyard in Arva (a few miles north of London, Ont) where his gravestone displays the brief inscription "James Dagg October 13, 1842"
James left his wife Anne and 7 children. Anne married Castle John Hodgins in 1846. They lived on Lot 21, Conc. 4 in Biddulph and had 1 son, Henry Castle Hodgins. Anne died in 1882 and CJ Hodgins died in 1887. Both are buried in the James Dagg plot in Arva, although there is no gravestone for either.
