Date of birth given for William Finlayson, son of Christy Cameron and John Finlayson of 'Little Bradeck' . Baptism given as 14 Sept 1831 when the minister was in that area. From the Island Register, baptisms (FM044)

In list of Emigrants on board the Spray to NZ William appears as age 28. This would make his DOB abt 1829. ((FM049, FM323, FM059_pg10 and FM224a)

Emigrated to N.Z. with his mother, his sister Margaret, and his brothers Alexander and Archie on the "Spray".

7 Sept 1895
William passed away from a stangulated hernia. Death record also reports his occupation as farmer, 65 years old,unmarried and that the informant of death was Samuel Edward McLeod nephew of the deceased. (FM320m)

The Finlayson bible has the same date for William's death. (FM239d)

• He immigrated from Cape Breton aboard brigantine 'Spray' in 1857 to Waipu, New Zealand. Passenger list has William age 28 on the voyage. Other information on his DOB would make him 27
