George was always interested and active in the work of the community. He loved people and easily made many friends. He was treasurer of Kincardine Twp. for many years, and was always active in the Methodist Church at Armow, and later, at Chalmers United Church. He was a member of the Court Armow C.O.F. no. 1312 for over 50 years.
George and Minnie were married in the residence of Minnie's parents in Glamis, Ontario. They lived and farmed on the Jarrell homestead on the 7th Concession of Kincardine Twp., but moved to 10 Park Rd., Brantford, Ontario, in 1956 when their son John, who was to take over the family farm, was killed. George and Minnie were unable to look after the farm any more and Brantford was chosen as two of their children, Georgia and Gordon, were living and teaching there. George suffered a heart attack in June of 1958, and is buried in Kincardine Cemetery. (ref:JB016h)

Marriage took place at residence of Minnie's parents in Glamis, Ontario (Pleasant View Farm, Armow)
