JARRELL, John George (George)

   Cause of his death was Heart attack.

   Another name for John was GEORGE.

  General Notes:

George was always interested and active in the work of the community. He loved people and easily made many friends. He was treasurer of Kincardine Twp. for many years, and was always active in the Methodist Church at Armow, and later, at Chalmers United Church. He was a member of the Court Armow C.O.F. no. 1312 for over 50 years.
George and Minnie were married in the residence of Minnie's parents in Glamis, Ontario. They lived and farmed on the Jarrell homestead on the 7th Concession of Kincardine Twp., but moved to 10 Park Rd., Brantford, Ontario, in 1956 when their son John, who was to take over the family farm, was killed. George and Minnie were unable to look after the farm any more and Brantford was chosen as two of their children, Georgia and Gordon, were living and teaching there. George suffered a heart attack in June of 1958, and is buried in Kincardine Cemetery. (ref:JB016h)

John married Christena Mary (Minnie) McKINNON, daughter of Donald (Huron Dan) McKINNON and Mary McINNES, on 5 Aug 1916 in Kincardine, Bruce County, Ontario, Canada. (Christena Mary (Minnie) McKINNON was born on 5 Apr 1890 in Huron Twp., Bruce County, Ontario, Canada, died in 1977 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and was buried in 1977 in Kincardine, Bruce County, Ontario, Canada.)

  Marriage Notes:

Marriage took place at residence of Minnie's parents in Glamis, Ontario (Pleasant View Farm, Armow)
Lived on Jarrell homestead on 7th Concession of Kincardine Twp. Moved to Brantford in 1956 when son John who was to take over family farm, was killed. They were unable to look after it any more. Brantford was chosen as both Georgia and Gordon were living and teaching there.
