Came from Isle of Eigg, Scotland (MM014 , MM023) Per notes of Florence May MacInnes, Isabella was a midwife for the neighborhood in Canada.
Isabella married Martin McINNES in 1851. (Martin McINNES was born about 1825 in Portree, Isle of Skye, Scotland, died on 18 Feb 1899 in Kinloss, Ontario, Canada and was buried Mon. 20 Feb 1899 in Kinloss, Ontario, Canada.)
Marriage Notes:
Martin and Bella, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Nicholson were the first settlers in Kinloss, settling on the 2nd concession in 1852. Their nearest neighbours were in Hackettown. They had all come out from Scotland direct to Goderich, and sailed in a sloop to Pine River, and then made their way into the bush, where they made their first log homes. (MM016)
Kith and Kin of Kinloss, P.180 - states they would walk to Goderich for supplies, carrying 100 pounds of flour on their back. In 1892, their home was destroyed by fire.
