Ancestors of Don Jarrell and sources
Welcome to my web site! Many hours of work have been put into
the research and documentation of these ancestors. I hope you
will benefit from the information I present here.
This photo is of my paternal gt grandparents John Jarrell and
Catherine McKay. When I set forth to learn more about them and
the rest of their family I had no idea what an adventure it
would become and of all the wonderful new friends and family
members I would meet along the way.
The tree has grown to include not only my maternal and paternal
ancestors, but also many other side branches as well, as, due to
the small sizes of groups in which some of these ancestors
travelled, there are many connecting links.
The times in which they lived have, in many cases, affected why
and where they traveled and lived - so we also glimpse a bit of
the history of those periods. These people are not just names
and dates - they all had a story. Learning their story helps
bring that history alive.
To protect the privacy of those of us still making that history,
private information has been withheld for living persons.
There are many people to thank for their help along the way but
first and foremost my thanks go to Linda Jarrell and Sharon
(Jarrell) Smith who, through their pre-computer hard work, laid
the groundwork for our later discoveries. Also to Myrtle
Stringer who kept the history going for several branches of the
family. Through her, we were able to learn of the NZ connection.
Thanks for the contributions of all those NZ descendants who
filled in many blanks along the way, and to the many aunts,
uncles and cousins for their information. I hope that if you are
reading this, you, too may be a contributing cousin, and I look
forward to your contact and input!
The information presented here is as accurate as I can make
it....however....the sources are varied and sometimes
distant or not prove-able. Please keep this in mind - and if you
find inaccuracies, or broken links, I would appreciate hearing
from you.
